HOW TO MAINTAIN MORTEX®

Although MORTEX® coating is waterproof and durable, it needs to be protected from stains like natural stone.

The maintenance of a MORTEX®-coated surface depends mainly on its protection.

For surfaces protected with natural products such as oil (
OIL MORTEX®) or wax (BEALWAX) for sealing more sensitive surfaces against grease or stubble. For everyday use, a sponge or cloth with a mild and gentle soap (without corrosive agents), such as 1 litre of lukewarm water solution with 1-2 tablespoons of well diluted "FINISH SA TR".

It is also advisable to treat these surfaces regularly with oil (OIL MORTEX®) or wax (BEALWAX) to 'feed' the surface substrate. Lightly impregnate the surface to be treated with the above products, using a cloth, brush or roller. Collect the excess with unpainted absorbent paper and immediately disperse the remainder with a scrap of clean white cotton cloth. This will prevent drips on vertical surfaces or an unwanted layer of protection on horizontal surfaces. Take care to remove any lime or other residues before doing so.

For BIPUR lacquered surfaces it is best to use a neutral cleaner.

Whatever the shower cover, the limescale in the water settles on it after each shower, leaving a variety of residues (soap, dirt, etc.). For this reason, weekly maintenance is essential. To remove such deposits on the MORTEX® cover, use white vinegar (also known as crystal vinegar) diluted in lukewarm water (1 part vinegar to 2 parts water). Spray and leave for a few moments, then wipe with a soft sponge. Start with a low concentration of vinegar and increase according to the amount of limescale deposits (no more than 2 parts vinegar to 1 part water). This also applies to plumbing fittings in contact with the MORTEX® coating. We recommend that you always carry out a test on a small area beforehand.
