Technical properties
"CAPILASIL 6" is a colorless impregnating agent designed to impart water-repellent properties to materials and protect them, while maintaining their permeability to water vapor.
„CAPILASIL 6“ It is a solvent solution (nonpolar solvent) based on oligomeric siloxanes, with an active ingredient concentration of 6%, calculated based on a 100% active ingredient concentrate. It hydrolyzes into a non-sticky polysiloxane.
Depending on the oligomer group, the molecules are very weakly polymerized. “CAPILASIL 6” is formulated with dearomatized solvents.
AREAS OF APPLICATION
- For surface water repellency.
- Intended for waterproofing materials such as concrete, lightweight concrete, bricks, unglazed clinker tiles, plaster with mortar, limestone, natural and artificial stone, fiber-reinforced cement, layers of silicate and cement-based paints, etc.
- For treating limestone (highly porous), bricks, and highly porous joints, you should use “CAPILASIL 10,” which has a higher concentration of active ingredient.
- "CAPILASIL PB" is also intended for non-porous stones (such as blue stone), as it is less active in the area of porous joints.
ADVANTAGES
- High resistance to alkalis.
- Excellent diffusion and excellent penetration.
- Made with deodorized solvents, which are much less harmful and virtually odorless, except when exposed to heat (heating).
- Can be used on a slightly damp substrate.
- Dries non-sticky.
- The materials continue to breathe (fills pores by about 1.02%, which is insignificant).
- Provides water-repellent properties for more than 10 years.
- Resistant to ultraviolet rays and does not fade.
- Can be treated again later.
- Full polymerization after 8–15 days at 20 °C.
- Protects exterior walls from heavy rain.
- Protects against damage caused by cold, thus preventing the risk of cracking.
- Heating savings. Dry materials have better thermal insulation properties than wet materials.
- Facades remain clean, dust and dirt can no longer penetrate and will be removed much more easily.
- The product does not cause efflorescence (salt deposits).
- Reduces the formation of moss or mold.

SUBSTRATE AND PREPARATION
- The surfaces to be treated must be clean.
- Since the solvent is non-polar, if the substrate is too damp, "CAPILASIL 6" will not absorb well; therefore, its effect and effectiveness will be significantly reduced.
- Adjacent surfaces, windows, frames, and plants must be protected.
- Wide cracks and holes must be repaired in advance.
- If newly joined masonry is being treated, wait at least 8 days due to the high alkalinity of the cement-based mortars. If the mortar contains air lime, wait at least 28 days.
- These terms also apply to fresh concrete.
- When producing mortars based on natural hydraulic lime without cement, wait at least 2 months.
- Chalky (loose on the surface) substrates must be reinforced by treating with "V 100" or "TEGOVAKON V" (silicon esters - ethyl silicates - stone hardener) to renew the binder and restore the original mineral structure.
APPLICATION / COATING
- Apply "CAPILASIL 6" generously with a low-pressure sprayer (without creating mist) or brush to saturation, allowing the product to flow down the facade. Work from the bottom up.
- Coating is usually done in 2 layers "wet on wet", but in some cases, one layer is sufficient.
- Immediately rinse off drips and splashes with "IMPRESIL" before "CAPILASIL 6" has polymerized.
CLEANING
- Possible stains and splashes are removed using the product "IMPRESIL" before the polymerization of "CAPILASIL 6". Tool cleaning can be done with "IMPRESIL", followed by rinsing with clean water.
- WARNINGS
- Blue stones or any other non-porous material must be immediately treated with “IMPRESIL” as soon as “CAPILASIL 6” spray appears; otherwise, they will be fully treated with “CAPILASIL 6” and then with “IMPRESIL.” Since these stones are non-porous, the product will tend to remain on the surface. The function of “IMPRESIL” is to re-liquefy the product so that, in certain cases, it penetrates the substrate more effectively.
- The dark appearance will fade over time when exposed to UV rays (ultraviolet rays) and rain. This note applies to all non-porous materials.
- There is a specially designed product for blue stones: "CAPILASIL PB".
- Glazings and non-porous materials must be wiped immediately with "IMPRESIL" several times, then rinsed and washed. Regularly change cleaning cloths to avoid any residues.
- "CAPILASIL 6" contains organic solvents: take precautions when using.
- Avoid contact with synthetic insulating materials, bitumen, etc. – in fact, with all materials sensitive to solvents (roofing, rubber, certain coatings and paints, insulation, etc.).
- Do not contaminate the substrate before polymerization, which can last from 8 to 15 days at a temperature of 20 °C.
TIPS
- Strictly follow the application protocols according to the product's intended use. Never use products other than those specified in this technical data sheet to avoid the risk of any damage.
- Always conduct tests.
- Always use products with the same lot number for the same item and the same product type.
ENVIRONMENT
- Dispose of at a specialized waste collection center.
SAFETY
- "CAPILASIL 6" is flammable. It must be kept away from any flame. When working, ensure adequate ventilation and minimize inhalation of vapors.
- Protect your eyes with safety glasses and protect your skin from splashes (wear gloves and appropriate clothing).
- In case of splashes, rinse immediately with water.
- Contains petroleum distillates that do not distill below 150 °C.
- R 10: Flammable at t° 66 °C.
- S 2: Keep out of reach of children.
- S 51: Use only in well-ventilated areas.
