Technical Properties
- “CAPILASIL PB” is a colorless impregnation agent.
- It provides water-repellent properties to materials and protects them.
- It maintains complete material permeability to water vapor.
- It is a solvent-based solution (non-polar solvent).
- Hydrolyzes into a non-tacky polysiloxane.
- The molecules belong to the oligomer group and are very weakly polymerized.
- The product is made based on dearomatized solvents.
APPLICATION AREAS
- Surface hydrophobization (protection against water).
- Impregnation of very low porosity materials to slow down dirt accumulation (e.g., window frames).
- For materials such as concrete, lightweight concrete, bricks, unglazed clinker, mortar plaster, limestone sandstone, natural and artificial stone, fiber cement, silicate and cement paint layers, we recommend using “CAPILASIL 6” or “CAPILASIL 10”.
- For processing limestone (very porous), bricks, and very porous joints, “CAPILASIL 10”.
- For non-porous stones (e.g., blue stone / pierre bleue) “CAPILASIL PB”, which is less active regarding porous seams.
ADVANTAGES
- High resistance to alkalis.
- Excellent diffusion and great penetration power.
- Less harmful and almost odorless due to dearomatized solvents (except for heat exposure).
- Dries non-sticky.
- Materials continue to breathe (closes pores only about 0.51%, which is insignificant).
- Long-lasting effectiveness.
- Resistant to ultraviolet (UV) rays and does not fade.
- The surface can be treated again later.
- Full polymerization occurs after 8–15 days at 20 °C.
- Protects against damage and cracking caused by cold.
- Heating economy (dry materials have better thermal insulation).
- Clean facades (dust and dirt do not penetrate and are easier to remove).
- Does not cause any product-induced deposits (efflorescence).
- Reduces the formation of moss or mold.

SUBSTRATE AND PREPARATION
- The surfaces to be treated must be clean and dry.
- Adjacent surfaces, windows, frames, and plants must be protected.
- Wide cracks and holes must be repaired in advance.
- When treating newly plastered masonry, wait at least 8 days due to the alkalinity of the cement mortar.
- If the mortar contains air lime, wait at least 28 days (this also applies to fresh concrete).
- When using natural hydraulic lime mortars without cement, wait at least 2 months.
- Loose / chalky substrates must be reinforced using “V 100” or “TEGOVAKON V”.
COATING
- Apply generously with a sprayer (without mist) or brush to saturation, allowing it to flow down the facade.
- Work in the direction from bottom to top.
- Coating is usually done in 2 layers “wet on wet” (sometimes one is sufficient).
- Immediately wash off drips with the product “IMPRESIL”, before the product has polymerized.
OTHER / CLEANING
- Stains and splashes are removed using the product “IMPRESIL”, before “CAPILASIL PB” has set.
- Clean tools with “IMPRESIL”, then rinse with clean water.
WARNINGS
- Internal moisture problems indicate a leaky masonry (water passes through porous joints).
- In this case, it is recommended to use “CAPILASIL 6” or “CAPILASIL 10”.
- Glass and non-porous materials must be wiped several times immediately with “IMPRESIL”.
- Regularly change cleaning cloths to avoid residue.
- The product contains organic solvents: take usual precautions.
- Avoid contact with synthetic insulating materials, bitumen, roofing, rubber, sensitive paints.
- Do not contaminate the substrate before polymerization, which lasts from 8 to 15 days at 16%.
TIPS
- Strictly follow application protocols according to the product's purpose.
- Never use other products than those specified in this technical data sheet.
- Always perform test trials.
- Use products with the same batch number for the same object.

Environment
Dispose of at a specialized waste collection center.
Safety
- “CAPILASIL PB” is flammable, keep away from flames.
- Ensure adequate ventilation and minimize inhalation of vapors.
- Protect eyes with goggles, and skin with gloves and appropriate clothing.
- Immediately wash off any accidental spills with water.
