Technical Properties
“CAPILASIL HeH2O” is a 7% concentration silane/siloxane emulsion in an aqueous phase. It is designed to stop rising capillary moisture and to hydrophobize porous building materials (concrete, bricks, white stone).
- Eco-friendliness: The product is water-based, making it very eco-friendly.
- Polymerization: The material polymerizes on both alkaline substrates (e.g., fresh concrete) and neutral surfaces (e.g., bricks).
Areas of Use
- Hydrophobization of surfaces (for surface coating, see separate technical sheet).
- Deep stopping of rising capillary moisture.
- Designed for masonry walls made of bricks, stones, concrete blocks, etc.
- Note: If the nitrate content exceeds 3% (e.g., in old stables), it is recommended to use “CAPILASIL HS.”
Advantages
- Contains no organic solvents, does not damage synthetic insulation materials.
- High resistance to alkalis.
- The substrate can be slightly damp.
- Odorless, dries non-sticky.
- Significantly reduces water absorption and protects against erosion.
- No salt rings (efflorescence) form after polymerization.
- Maintains thermal insulation properties (dry materials insulate better).
- Walls remain permeable to water vapor (breathable).
- Invisible coating that protects against freeze damage and cracks.
- Reduces the occurrence of moss, mold, and fungus.
Deficiencies
- Since the product is water-based, additional moisture is introduced into the walls. Final drying is longer than when using 'CAPILASIL 10'. Until complete polymerization, salt deposits may temporarily increase.
- State: Liquid
- Color: Colorless
- Density: 1040 kg/m³
- Packaging: 25 l, 5 l canisters and 1 l bottles
- Yield (consumption): 1.5–2 liters per linear meter / for every 10 cm of wall thickness. (Example: A 35 cm thick wall will require between 5.25 to 7 liters per linear meter).
- Working temperature: Not lower than +5°C.
- Wall drying: In living spaces, the drying process can take from 6 to 12 months or longer, depending on ventilation, heating, and type of finish.
Surface preparation
- If the masonry is newly pointed with cement mortar, you need to wait at least 8 days in the injection zone, and if air lime was used – at least 28 days.
- Fragile, crumbling surfaces must be reinforced with a stone hardener (e.g., V 100 or TEGOVAKON V) beforehand.
Working process
- Drilling: Holes of 12 mm – 16 mm in diameter are drilled about 10 cm above the level of the interior floors,, spaced every 10–15 cm10–15 cm one from another.
- Corner and depth: Holes are drilled with a slight slope downwards. The drilling depth must match the wall thickness, minus 7 cm.
- Injection: The product is introduced into the holes by gravity (infusion) or under pressure using a pump. The injection pressure and time depend on the porosity and thickness of the masonry.
- Filling holes: After the procedure, the holes are filled and sealed with a fast-setting mixture "MORTEX RAPID+".
Additional warnings and safety
- Cleaning: Tools, stains, and splashes are washed with clean water while the product has not yet polymerized.
- Protection: Since the product is water-based, it can be diluted by rainwater. If the substrate is too wet, effectiveness will decrease.
- Safety: It is mandatory to wear protective goggles and gloves during work. If it comes into contact with skin – wash immediately with water.
"CAPILASIL HeH2O" is a 7% concentration silane/siloxane emulsion in an aqueous phase. It is designed specifically for hydrophobization (water protection) of porous building materials such as concrete, bricks, and white stone, and for protection against rising moisture.
- Eco-friendliness: The product is water-based, making it very eco-friendly.
- Polymerization: The material polymerizes on both alkaline substrates (e.g., fresh concrete) and neutral surfaces (e.g., bricks).
Areas of Use
- Surface hydrophobization.
- Stopping rising moisture (for this method, please request a separate technical sheet).
- Designed for hydrophobization of materials such as: concrete, lightweight concrete, bricks, unglazed clinker, mortar plaster, limestone (sandstone), natural and artificial stone, fiber cement (fibrocement), layers of silicate and cement paints, etc.
Notes:
- For the treatment of highly porous limestone, bricks, and very porous joints, a more concentrated product "CAPILASIL 10" should be used.
- For the treatment of non-porous stones (e.g., blue stone – pierre bleue) an organic solvent-based product "CAPILASIL PB" is intended.
Advantages
- Contains no organic solvents, does not damage synthetic insulation materials.
- High resistance to alkalis.
- The substrate can be slightly damp.
- Odorless, dries non-sticky.
- Significantly reduces water absorption.
- Protects exterior walls from heavy (driving) rain.
- Protection against water-induced erosion.
- No salt rings (efflorescence) form after polymerization.
- Maintains thermal insulation properties (dry materials insulate better).
- The surface becomes noticeably less sensitive to dirt.
- Maintains the permeability of treated walls to water vapor (breathability).
- Invisible coating that protects against freeze damage and cracks.
- Walls/facades remain clean, dust and dirt can no longer penetrate and are washed off much more easily.
- Reduces the formation of moss and mold.
- State: Liquid
- Color: Whitish (before drying)
- Density: 1040 kg/m³
- Setting time: 50 +/- 5 sec. (Euro / 3 mm measuring cup)
- pH: 8–9
- Packaging: 25 l, 5 l canisters and 1 l bottles
Yield (consumption):
- 0.3 to 1 l/m² for masonry (clay bricks).
- 0.25 to 0.5 l/m² for solid (monolithic) concrete.
- (Consumption must be adjusted according to the substrate's porosity).
- Working temperature: Not lower than +5°C.
- Polymerization time (at 20°C): 8–15 days until full product effectiveness. Note: direct rain immediately after application does not wash off "CAPILASIL HeH2O".
Surface preparation:
- The surfaces to be treated must be clean.
- Adjacent surfaces, windows, frames, and plants must be protected.
- Wide cracks and holes must be repaired in advance.
- If the mortar contains air lime, wait at least 28 days.
- When using natural hydraulic lime mortars without cement, wait at least 2 months.
- Fragile, crumbling surfaces must be reinforced with a stone hardener (e.g., V 100 or TEGOVAKON V) beforehand.
Working process
- The product is ready for use. Before and during use, regularly and thoroughly mix.
- Coating: Apply "CAPILASIL HeH2O" generously with a gun (without spraying/misting causing atomization) or brush/non-spray method until fully absorbed (saturation), allowing the product to flow down the facade.
- Direction: Always work in the direction from bottom to top.
- Layers: Typically applied in 2 layers using the "wet on wet" method (without waiting for the first to fully dry), but in some cases, one layer is sufficient.
- Protection: Protect from rain for at least 24 hours at +20°C.
Additional warnings and safety
- Cleaning: Tools, stains, and splashes are washed with clean water while the product has not yet polymerized.
- Protection: If the substrate is too wet, the product will be diluted and its effectiveness will decrease. Glass and non-porous materials must be immediately cleaned with "IMPRESIL".
- Safety: It is mandatory to wear protective goggles and appropriate clothing/gloves during work. Splash on skin should be rinsed off immediately with water.
